Tamira E. Sno (1962) is a PhD researcher at the Department of Sociology of VU University Amsterdam and Lecturer at the Department of Sociology of the Anton de Kom [ADEK] University of Suriname. At present (2014 - now) she is the National Representative of Suriname in the International Social Survey Programme and has collected ISSP survey data in 2012, 2015, 2018, 2020, 2023, as part of the SURMOB research program. Her main research interests are social stratification and intergenerational mobility in Suriname. Together with her advisor Harry Ganzeboom she developed the Surinamese Socio-Economic Index of occupational status SRSEI and the Surinamese Level of Education scale SRLED. She has presented her work at ADEK and VU, the ISSP, the RC28 of the International Sociological Association, the European Consortium for Sociological Research ECSR, the Cambridge Stratification Seminar and the NSV Day of Sociology. She teaches quantitative methods and statistics at the BA and MA level.
